Global Talent visa
Global Talent Visa Solicitors in Manchester and London
The Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) visa was replaced by the Global Talent visa on 20 February 2020. The Global Talent visa was introduced to attract high calibre individuals who are considered leaders in specific fields to come to the UK.
Conditions
- Can apply for the visa without an endorsement if you have won an eligible award
- Can stay in the UK for up to 5 years at a time
- Can extend the visa when it expires
- Can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain after 3 or 5 years
- Can get a decision on the visa application within 3 weeks if you apply from outside the UK or 8 weeks if you apply in the UK
- Can bring your family with you
- Can work (including self-employment and voluntary work) except for employment as a professional sportsperson
- Can study subject to Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) conditions
- Can travel and return to the UK
Eligibility
- You must meet the validity, suitability and eligibility requirements for Global Talent
- You must apply for an endorsement to prove that you are a leader or potential leader unless you have won an eligible award
- You must meet the validity, suitability and eligibility requirements
- You must apply for the visa within 3 months of receiving the endorsement letter
- You must be at least 18 years old

You can decide how long you remain in the UK, up to a maximum of 5 years.
There is a limit of 2000 Exceptional Talent visas per year. These are split between the different bodies and has never been reached.
To apply for a global talents visa costs £152, however, if you are a citizen of Turkey or Macedonia you get a discounted price of £97.
According to the UK government, there are roughly 2000 global talent visas given out annually.
